The size range of rubber fenders is relatively large. Conventional size products can easily choose matching vulcanization equipment, but the investment in large vulcanization equipment required for oversized products is too high, especially when the product batch is small. It is not cost-effective to invest in purchasing large vulcanization equipment.
Floating rubber fenders are a relatively new type of fender equipment. Compared to solid rubber fenders, their main characteristics are: large compression deformation, large energy absorption, small reaction force, self floating, and easy installation. Usually used in situations such as ship to ship, ship to wharf cargo transfer, and docking; Due to its self floating characteristics, it is particularly suitable for installation at docks with significant changes in tide levels. Among them, filled rubber fenders are particularly suitable for applications in harsh environments, such as offshore drilling platforms, due to their advantages of maintenance free and long service life.
1) Cylindrical rubber fenders:
Features: low reaction force, low surface pressure, and reasonable energy absorption; When berthing, it has strong adaptability to the roll and pitch of the ship and is not affected by the size of the ship. It has a wide range of uses and is easy to install and maintain, especially suitable for old-fashioned docks.
2) Semi circular (D-type) rubber fenders:
The characteristic reaction force is moderate, and the energy absorption is higher than that of cylindrical shapes; Easy to install and work with; Due to its small bottom width, it is particularly suitable for frame type docks and ship side installation.
3) DO type rubber fender:
The characteristic is that the reactive energy absorption is higher than that of D-type fenders; The installation strength and service life are greatly improved compared to D-type fenders; Suitable for frame type docks.
Arched (V-shaped) rubber fenders: characterized by moderate reaction force and high energy absorption; Firmly installed and convenient;
4) DA type rubber fender:
Featuring high energy absorption and low reaction force; The product has higher stress dispersion and longer service life; Setting up a defense board at the front end can reduce surface pressure; Complete specifications and diverse installation methods; Easy to replace
5) Drum type rubber fender:
Characteristics: Low reaction force and high energy absorption; Surface pressure below 25 tons/m2; The mechanical performance of inclined compression decreases slightly; π Type rubber fender: characterized by low reaction force and high energy absorption; Easy installation; Generally suitable for large and medium-sized docks
The industry standards used for solid rubber fenders are HG/T 2866-2016 Rubber Fenders and GB/T 21537-2008 Cone Rubber Fenders.
The industry standards for inflatable rubber fenders used in China are CB-T 3948 Marine Inflatable Rubber Balls and the international ISO standard ISO17357:2002 High Pressure Floating Pneumatic Rubber fenders. The filled floating rubber fender is a new product, and there are no international or industry standards yet.
