The Structure And Working Principle Of Hydro Pneumatic Fender

Structure: Hydro-pneumatic fenders consist of a flexible outer shell and an internal chamber that is partially filled with water and air. The counterweight helps to maintain the vertical position of the fender.

 

Working Principle: When a vessel comes into contact with the hydro-pneumatic fender, the impact force is absorbed by the compression of both the water and air inside the chamber. The water provides damping and shock absorption, while the air allows for some flexibility and movement. The counterweight ensures that the fender remains upright and in position, providing consistent protection to the vessel’s hull.
