Marine Airbag repair process flow

Prepare the rubber cement 3 hours in advance: Cut the rubber sheet into small pieces, add 92# gasoline to cover the pieces. Start stirring when the surface melts. After the pieces are completely melted and turn into a paste state, set it aside. The concentration should be such that when dipped with a brush, it does not drip.

Place the damaged part of the airbag facing up and lay it flat in the middle of the gantry. It should not be uneven.

Clean the surface: Remove the dirt from the area to be repaired on the airbag and sand the rubber around the damaged area. Extend the sanding area 15 - 20 cm outside the break (appropriately control the sanding size according to the size of the damage).

When the damage is relatively large (such as a 1m large break), use wire or the framework wire of the repair material to sew up the damaged area. No sewing is required for minor damages.

Brush gasoline to clean up the remaining rubber debris from sanding. Apply the rubber cement. Align the damaged parts. Stack and bond the coated cord fabric layer by layer in a crisscross pattern on the damaged area, and bond the wear-resistant rubber sheet on the outermost layer. Apply gasoline when stacking and bonding each layer of cord fabric and rubber sheet. Only apply the rubber cement to the coated cord fabric in contact with the original airbag. The size of the material should be smaller for the innermost layer and larger for the outermost layer. Each layer should be at least 1.5 cm larger than the inner layer on each side.

Lay newspaper on the patch to isolate the rubber from the heating plate.

Place the heating plate on the newspaper and apply pressure with a jack. Use a roller to apply pressure to the limit of human strength.

Power on the heating plate and heat it to 145°C. Immediately stop heating. After the temperature naturally cools down to 60°C, the repair is completed. Repeat the above steps for maintenance. If there is extensive damage and the floor heating panel is arranged, the pressing should be based on covering 1 cm of the edge of the first repair.
