1. The exterior rubber layer on marine airbags safeguards the underlying layers from external forces, boasting strong tensile and tearing capabilities for durability.

How has the technology advanced since then?
Over the past thirty years, the airbag ship launching system has made advancements in not only the airbag, but also the ship launching/landing technology. The first generation airbags used a rubber dipped canvas as a reinforcement layer to form the air chamber trunk. Two cone-shaped molds were then used to make the ends and everything was stuck together.
For today's airbags, the integral strapping technology used for manufacturing is done together. Dip synthetic tire cord is used as the reinforcement layer, and the barrel and two tapered ends are made at the same time. Then tie everything together so the airbag doesn't have any joints. Due to developments in rubber chemistry, the performance of the rubber used in the latest airbags has been greatly improved, approximately 15 times that of first-generation airbags of the same specifications.
Launch and landing technology also developed. Initially, only small flat-bottomed boats could launch airbags on prefabricated ramps. The technology is now more flexible and not limited by vessels and terrain. Now, any type of ship with a deadweight tonnage of less than 55,000 can use airbag launch as long as there is enough launch space. The launch slope can even be sloped upward. It has developed into a cutting-edge launching technology that is particularly useful in some maritime emergencies.
