The pneumatic fender ball is a popular replacement product for ship fenders in the world today. It uses compressed air as a buffer medium to provide a softer collision avoidance effect when the ship is docked. Compared with general spring-loaded rubber fenders (such as used tires, solid rubber fenders, etc.), it has the advantages of large impact energy absorption, low unit area pressure acting on the ship, excellent impact fatigue resistance, and easy installation.
It is widely suitable for use as fender facilities for large oil tankers, liquefied gas ships, offshore platforms, large shipyards, submarine docks, etc.

The structure Characteristics

Luhang pneumatic fender are composed of outer rubber, reinforced synthetic tire cord layers, and inner rubber, which are firmly vulcanized.
A. The outer layer of rubber is used to protect the cord layer and inner rubber from wear and other external forces. This rubber compound has sufficient tensile and tear strength to withstand expected weather conditions and heavy use.
B. Reinforced synthetic tire cord layers are strong enough to maintain the internal air pressure of the fender.
C. The inner rubber layer seals the pressurized air inside the fender.
D. Fenders with a diameter of 2500mm and above are equipped with a safety valve, which can release excess internal pressure when the fender is accidentally over-compressed.
The fender assembly is a metal end, which is clamped by bolts and nuts from the inner and outer flanges. There is a valve in the center, and its structure is similar to a car tire valve.

When two ships berthing at sea are accompanied by a larger vessel, the risks increase, especially during changing weather conditions with wind and waves. Utilizing pneumatic fenders as buffers on the sides not only facilitates the berthing process for heavy ships but also enhances the efficiency of transportation operations. Pneumatic fenders are primarily employed for scenarios such as fishing ships in the Antarctic Ocean and berthing of large oil tankers. Furthermore, inflatable rubber fenders are commonly utilized for terminal dock protection due to their ability to absorb high levels of impact energy while exerting low reaction forces, particularly when dealing with very large ships.

Fender pressure should be kept in the standard air pressure in the± 5% range, and once every three months to check air pressure, deflated or fill gas up to standard in a timely manner.
